Principle of operation of exhaust valves

Gas venting and automatic control

The operating principle of the exhaust valve involves two main aspects: gas venting and automatic control. The following are specific explanations:

Gas Discharge: When the system is filled with water, the gas in it will keep escaping and gathering high up due to temperature and pressure changes. If the gas pressure is greater than the system pressure, the float will fall and drive the valve stem downwards, thus opening the valve port and allowing the gas to be discharged. When the gas pressure decreases, the float rises, driving the valve stem upward and closing the valve port. In this way, the exhaust valve through the float up and down to achieve the automatic discharge of gas.
Automatic control: the exhaust valve is able to automatically adjust the switching state of the valve according to the pressure change inside the system. When the system is filled with water, a large amount of gas is discharged until water accumulates inside the valve, the float is floated up and the plug is actuated to the closed position, stopping a large amount of venting. However, if a small amount of air collects in the system, the water level in the valve drops, the float drops with it, and the air is vented through the small hole. When there is no water flow in the system or when negative pressure is encountered, the plug quickly opens to draw in air to ensure the integrity of the pipework.
In addition, the design of an air vent valve includes a limiting device, the distance between the float and the valve seat, which reflects changes in the liquid level inside the valve, which in turn affects the opening and closing of the valve. Typically, the bonnet should be in the open position to allow the exhaust valve to function properly. Exhaust valves can also be used in conjunction with other equipment, such as isolation valves, to facilitate maintenance and access.

Exhaust valves also play an important role in the engine's exhaust system, which works by limiting the pressure and temperature of the exhaust gases and by using the force of a spring to control the opening and closing of the valve as a means of ensuring the normal operation of the engine. When the engine is running at high speed, the exhaust valve opens to allow high-temperature exhaust gases to be discharged, while when the engine speed decreases or driving conditions deteriorate, the exhaust valve automatically adjusts the strength of the spring according to the control system to maintain a stable exhaust effect.
